This exotic beauty is a 20 month old Philippine Aspin dog named Tivoli. She weighs 19 petite pounds and was saved from a life on the streets of Manila by our friends at CARA Welfare Phils - "Compassion And Responsibility for Animals". That was October xxxx. She was in poor health when they found her but CARA took excellent care of our girl and made her healthy once again! We are ?SO EXCITED? to be working together with CARA to find Tivoli a responsible, loving forever family in the United States. Tivoli is in an UH-mazing WDR foster home ? and she has made a remarkably quick adjustment to life in SoCal!
Tivoli is a beautiful, sweet and spirited pup. She's very loving and attentive to her trusted human leaders, and she listens well and wants to please. She's super smart and trainable, and she's an extremely well behaved house pet who's not destructive in the least. She can be shy with new people and skittish in new situations, but who can blame her - being alone on the streets makes you cautious. Sometimes when she's uncertain and confused, she will share her feelings with you in little yips and chatter. It doesn't take long for her to warm up and bond with her humans, and then she will share her gentle soul and delicate mannerisms ?
Tiv is great with other dogs and LOOOVES to play. She can also live with savvy felines. She's looking for understanding, patient guardians in an active home with older children (if any) who will earn her trust and make her feel safe. She will excel with firm leadership in a calm household and is looking for parents who will continue the training that she is receiving in her foster home. We hope Tivoli will have another well matched, balanced, playful doggie companion or two in her forever home. However, she would also be fine as an only dog if her humans are around to spend lots of time with her. She'd LOVE a nice yard to run around in. Tivoli is one million percent house broken, crate trained too. She's great in the car, working on her leash manners, and a good girl when out with her people. Tivoli hopes to help raise awareness of the plight of dogs like her in the Philippine Islands. There is so much poverty, very little education about responsible pet ownership, and few resources available to get a handle on street dog overpopulation and animal abuse.
